APS Gets Down and Dirty for a Good Cause

Mud Fears Me 5KFor one Saturday in October, the APS team took off their payroll and tax compliance hats and threw on some mud gear for the 2012 Mud Fears Me 5K in Shreveport. The 3.1-mile course consisted of 20+ obstacles designed for everyone from the novice to the expert, as well as plenty of mud baths and puddles along the way.

While many APS employees participated to push their physical and mental limits, the event itself is for charity. For every $5 donation that was made, 50% of the total went to Childhelp benefiting abused children and the other 50% went to CHRISTUS Kids Project 5210 promoting a healthy lifestyle for children and their families in Shreveport.

APS President Aaron Johnson is already looking forward to the next Mud Fears Me event. “I was really impressed with the turnout of the event and the comradery that an event like this creates. I am certain that we will have more participants sign up for the next event in April.”
