Dick Kerkering and Allan Barberio initially met in 1970 while working at the same Sarasota CPA firm. As they grew to know each other, they found that they shared a client service model different from that of their current employer. After a couple years, they made the decision to go out on their own and put their vision into action. They began Kerkering, Barberio & Co. by offering virtual executive financial consulting services, tax preparation, and business consulting.
As the company grew, Dick and Allan enjoyed the competitive advantages that a larger firm with quality people and a dedication to client service could offer. They continually added the necessary resources to serve their clients and the local market. Growth presented both challenges and opportunities, but they never waivered from their long-term strategies.
