When you’re ready to screen a candidate, you click the extension, confirm the candidate’s auto-populated information, select a screening package, and place the order — all without leaving APS. Results return to the same interface.

Do I need to be an APS Hire client to use this integration?

Yes, the in-platform integration requires both APS Hire and APS Payroll. Organizations that use APS Payroll but not APS Hire can still access Verified First screening services directly through the Verified First portal, though the workflow won’t be embedded in APS.

What types of background checks can I run through APS?

APS background screening covers criminal background checks, civil records, MVR and DOT reports, credit and financial checks, drug screening, identity verification, employment and education verifications, Form I-9 and E-Verify, and background screening of minors. Packages can be pre-configured by department or job role.

When a candidate authorizes a drug screen, they select a collection site near them and receive instructions. For roles where facility visits aren’t practical, eMed offers a remotely proctored option delivered to the candidate’s location.
