Managed Services: payroll and HR expertise, managed for you
Grow the business without growing the back office: our dedicated payroll and HR team works alongside your staff to help you stay compliant and pay your employees accurately.
How Managed Services Works
You hand off the manual work. A dedicated team does the work inside APS OnLine. Every decision still comes back to you before it’s final.
-
APS reviews your current setup so your dedicated team starts accurate on day one.
-
Payroll prep, tax filing, HR guidance — whichever line you pick, the operational work moves off your plate.
-
A dedicated team, already familiar with your setup, is working inside your APS OnLine account.
-
Every payroll batch and every HR decision comes back to you for review and approval before anything is final.
-
APS OnLine applies the correct federal, state, and local taxation, and the APS tax team files and remits payroll taxes for payrolls processed with APS, so you spend less time chasing requirements.
- You review
- You approve
A Dedicated Team, Not a Ticket Queue
A dedicated team owns the relationship from day one. You're not re-explaining your setup to someone new.
You Keep the Authority
You approve every payroll batch before it's submitted. Pay, employment, and benefits decisions stay with you.

Typical PEOs/Outsourced Providers
- You share liability but are forced to give up control over your employment and benefit decisions.
- You are locked into one bundled contract and standardized processes, whether you need them or not.
- You are relegated to a support queue, speaking with a different representative every time you call.
- You are required to adopt, integrate, and learn the provider’s separate proprietary software.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Managed Services?
APS Managed Services pairs the APS OnLine platform you already use with dedicated payroll and HR teams that handle the operational work — payroll processing or HR advisory — while you review and approve everything before it’s final. Sold as two independent lines: Managed Payroll and Managed HR.
What if I only need one managed service, not both?
Managed Payroll and Managed HR are sold and priced independently. Start with the one you need. Add the other later, or never, if you don’t need it.
What add-ons are available?
There are four. Managed HR add-ons are Benefits Administration and Employee Lifecycle Management, which require HR Advisor. Managed Payroll add-ons are Employee Data Management and Time & Attendance Management, which require Payroll Processing. No add-on can be purchased without its line’s minimum line of service.
What does the audit include?
Every engagement includes an audit of your current setup: an HR operations audit, a payroll configurations audit, and an online systems configuration audit. You receive a documented findings summary and a plan of action, and APS carries out the agreed items. Timing is flexible: before ongoing service begins or during onboarding.
Is this a PEO structure?
No. You keep your own EIN, benefit plans, and employment relationship — there’s no co-employment. A dedicated team does the operational work, and you keep the authority and the decisions.
How much does this cost?
Pricing is per employee per month, with a minimum per line, and depends on your headcount and which add-ons apply. Your discovery call gets you a real number.
