Managed Payroll: a dedicated team that knows your setup
APS Managed Payroll prepares, reconciles, and submits. You review and approve.
How it Works
You hand off the manual work. A dedicated payroll team does the work inside APS. Every batch still comes back to you before it’s final.
-
APS reviews your earnings, deductions, tax setup, and pay controls so your payroll team starts accurately on day one.
-
Batch prep, tax filing, reconciliation — whichever part of the cycle is the problem, it moves off your plate.
-
Every batch comes back to you for review and approval before anything is submitted.
- Hand off manual tasks
- Work with a dedicated team
A dedicated team, not a rotating queue
Your dedicated payroll team owns the relationship from day one, so you're never re-explaining your setup.
Tax filing off your plate
The APS tax team files and remits payroll taxes, with notice remediation and amendments included for payrolls processed with APS.
Backup that already knows your account
When your payroll person is out, the cycle still runs. Just name a primary contact and a backup.
Nothing moves without your review
Every batch is prepared and reconciled, then waits for your review and approval.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Managed Payroll?
APS Managed Payroll pairs the APS platform you already use with a dedicated payroll team that prepares and reconciles your payroll every cycle — batch preparation and reconciliation, tax filing by the APS tax team, garnishment administration — while you review and approve before anything is submitted.
What if we already have someone handling payroll in-house?
This is backup and bandwidth, not a replacement. A dedicated team means payroll keeps running even when your one in-house person is out, overloaded, or gone.
Isn't this just outsourcing? Will we lose visibility into our own payroll?
You review and approve every payroll batch before it’s released. A dedicated team does the operational work. You keep the authority. “We do the typing, you keep the pen.”
Is this expensive compared to what we're doing now?
Ask what your last tax notice or filing correction actually cost you, in dollars or hours. That’s the real comparison — not the sticker price against doing nothing.
Will we lose control over our own payroll process?
Every batch requires your review and approval. APS never processes without authorization.
Why would we start this now if we just renewed our platform?
Managed Payroll isn’t tied to your platform renewal cycle. It’s scoped and priced on its own and can start any time.
Are you becoming our PEO?
No. You keep your own EIN, benefit plans, and employment relationship. There’s no co-employment.
What if we only need payroll, not HR?
Managed Payroll is sold on its own. Add Managed HR later, or don’t, if that’s not where your problem is.
How much does this cost?
Pricing is per employee per month, with a line minimum, and depends on headcount and which add-ons are selected. We’ll get you a real number based on your setup.
What happens when the person helping us is out?
You work with a dedicated team, not a single person, so coverage doesn’t depend on one individual being available.
What add-ons are available?
There are four. Managed HR add-ons are Benefits Administration and Employee Lifecycle Management, which require HR Advisor. Managed Payroll add-ons are Employee Data Management and Time & Attendance Management, which require Payroll Processing. No add-on can be purchased without its line’s minimum line of service.
What does the audit include?
Every engagement includes an audit of your current setup: an HR operations audit, a payroll configurations audit, and an online systems configuration audit. You receive a documented findings summary and a plan of action, and APS carries out the agreed items. Timing is flexible: before ongoing service begins or during onboarding.
